Free Resources for Those Impacted by Los Angeles Wildfires

To those who are impacted by these wildfires: We are with you. We stand with you. We are here to lend a helping hand, however we can. If there’s anything my team and I can do, please do not hesitate to reach out. My contact information is at the bottom of this post.

And for those in need, here is a list of the free resources I could find, which will be updated as new resources are made available.

Los Angeles restaurants offering free food to fire evacuees (please not information is subject to change so please contact the restaurant to confirm the continuation of free service, especially when placing large orders):

You can visit Le Great Outdoor’s website and order a meal for a firefighter. (Meals will be delivered 2x per day.) Select “Firefighter Meal” when purchasing.

SHELTER

  • LA 211 has collaborated with Airbnb. Anyone who has been evacuated from the Pacific Palisades fire can stay at an Airbnb for one week at no charge. Dial 2-1-1 or visit www.211LA.org for more information.
  • The Queen Mary hotel in Long Beach is pricing rooms for evacuees at $18. This reservation includes a voucher for breakfast buffet for two people and a waiver of the pet and Historical Preservation fees. Call (562) 435-3511 or visit queenmary.com for more information.
  • Several vacation homes and hotels in Big Bear are currently being listed at a discount for evacuees. Click here for a list of discounted lodging options in Big Bear, along with free food vouchers for L.A. County fire evacuees.
  • Visit Anaheim has put together a list of special hotel offers and assistance for evacuees. Click here for fire relief offers.

  • Northridge Park (10120 Reseda Blvd, Northridge, CA 91324)
  • Pasadena Convention Center (300 E Green St, Pasadena, CA 91101)
  • Ritchie Valens Recreation Center (10736 Laurel Canyon Blvd, Pacoima 91331)
  • Sepulveda Recreation Center (8825 Kester Ave, Panorama City, CA 9140)

Westwood Recreation Center (1350 S Sepulveda Blvd 90025): Accepts small animals.

Animal Evacuation Shelters:

  • Agoura Animal Care Center (29525 Agoura Rd, Agoura Hills, CA 91301): Small animals only.
  • Los Angeles Equestrian Center (480 Riverside Dr, Burbank): Open for evacuation of large animals.
  • Pasadena Humane Society (361 S Raymond Ave, Pasadena, CA 91105): Small animals only.
  • Pierce College Equestrian Center (7100 El Rancho Drive, Woodland Hills): Open for evacuation of large animals.
  • Anyone who has evacuated from the fires to Desert Horse Park can receive a free nebulizer treatment for their horses by texting (949) 413-3581

Planet Fitness recently announced that all open locations in Los Angeles are now available for evacuees to charge phones/electronics, use the WiFi, relax in the massage lounge, etc. You do not need a membership, this is free to those impacted by the fires.

PET CARE

  • The Canine Rescue Club is offering community dog-sitting assistance. Click here to fill out the form if you need help caring for your dog(s) during these challenging times.
  • Vetster.com is offering free tele-health appointments to pets affected by the fire.

TRANSPORTATION

  • Evacuees can receive a $40 credit from Uber to get to an evacuation site. This credit will only be valid for trips to an active shelter and by using the code WILDFIRE25.
  • Lyft is offering $25 vouncers, valid for two trips, for up to 500 customers from now until midnight on January 15. Use code CAFIRERELIEF25 for the promotion.

STORAGE

  • U-Haul announced that wildfire evacuees in Greater Los Angeles can receive 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box container services at 92 centers throughout L.A.
  • Lugg is offering free moves to those impacted by the wildfires, whether they need to transport belongings, donate items or relocate to safety. Send a DM to @lugg for more information.

FURNITURE AND CLOTHING

  • Babyletto is providing cribs to any families that have lost their homes or have been impacted by the fires. For more information, contact info@babyletto.com
  • +COOP (7278 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036) is providing new and gently used clothing and supplies.
  • Paige (189 The Grove Drive, Ste. Q60, Los Angeles; 395 Santa Monica Place, Space 132, Santa Monica; 451 Manhattan Beach Blvd., Manhattan Beach) is offering 50% off any new product in-store along with two free pairs of jeans and 2 tops for those impacted by the wildfires. (Free jeans and top will be chosen from select styles, ID or proof of residency required to redeem.) Reach out to donations@paige.com for any questions.
  • There is a free pop-up boutique at 112 West 9th Street #400, Los Angeles, CA 90015, open to anyone impacted by the wildfires. The boutique is open seven days a week from noon – 8 p.m.
  • Brooklyn Projects (7427 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90046) is providing clothing, shoes and socks to wildfire victims.
  • Jellypop is providing shoes for women and girls in need. Email Gregg Millward at gmillward22@gmail.com with sizes.
  • Clothing brand Rudy Jude is providing adult and kid/baby clothing. Please text (207) 691-1010 with your name and size(s).
  • Orange Coast Interior Design is offering free advice, consultations and assistance, “whether you have questions about restoring your space, need guidance on rebuilding, or simply want to discuss your options.” Visit www.orangecoastinteriordesign.com for more information.
  • Ripley Rader (2241 N Cahuenga Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90068) is providing clothes to help rebuild wardrobes for those impacted by the wildfires.
  • PacSun is asking those who need clothes to send them a direct message on Instagram @pacsun.
  • SHE IS HOPE LA, a nonprofit organization providing assistance for single mothers, announced that those in need of personal hygiene kits, clothing and food can email volunteer@sheishopela.org.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

  • Atlas Wellness is giving first responders, members of SoCal fire departments and members of the law enforcement community “first priority and the care you need [at our office’s] expense. Visit www.atlaswellness.com or call 714-540-6792 for more information. You can also walk in during business hours for treatment.
  • Kahan Orthodontics (18372 Clark St Suite 201, Tarzana, CA 91356) is offering free orthodontic emergency services. Call 818-578-8782 for more information.
  • Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has a 24/7 national Disaster Distress Hotline to provide year-round disaster crisis counseling. Call or text 1-800-985-5990 for immediate support.
  • FamilyTimeCenters is offering free mental health care and counseling to anyone impacted by the wildfires. Visit familytimecenters.com for more information.
  • KTLA has assembled a list of mental health resources for those impacted by the wildfires.

CHILDCARE/KIDS PRODUCTS

  • The Boys and Girls Club at 3230 East Del Mar Blvd. in Pasadena will be open and free of charge 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from January 13-17.  
  • If your child lost a precious stuffed animal or blanket in the wildfires, DM @loststuffyproject with a photo, brand or any other helpful information along with contact information to repost. The LA Lost Stuffy Project will do its best to find a replacement.

MISC.

  • If you lost family photos in the fires, Storm Santos will shoot new ones, free of charge. To get started email storm@stormsantos.com. (This offer doesn’t expire.)
  • The California Association of REALTORS® has compiled a list of helpful resources for those impacted by the wildfire and those seeking disaster relief. Click here for the list.
  • Phone charging, WiFi, and restroom access is being offered free at Boomtown Brewery (700 Jackson Street, Los Angeles) and Odyssey Games (1795 East Colorado, Pasadena).
